Behaviour Connections in the Workplace

Understanding ourselves. Understanding each other. Creating better ways of working together.

Every person experiences work differently. We create opportunities for people to better understand those differences — in themselves, in each other and within the workplace.

We don’t begin with labels. We begin with the person and their experience.
Behaviour Connections at Sky

One Workplace. Two Perspectives.

Understanding the individual and the environment around them.

For individuals, this can mean greater self-awareness, self-understanding and self-advocacy. For leaders and organisations, it means developing the understanding, confidence and curiosity to recognise different needs and create working environments where people can thrive.

For You

Understand how you experience work

You may already know that you’re neurodivergent, be exploring whether neurodivergence could help explain some of your experiences, or simply want to understand yourself and how you work better.

You don’t need a label to become curious about what helps you.

Understand your people

Neuroinclusive practice doesn’t require managers to become experts in every diagnosis. It begins with understanding, curiosity and listening.

The useful question becomes: What helps this person work at their best?

For You

Self-awareness. Self-understanding. Self-advocacy.

Understanding your own patterns gives you useful information. The aim isn’t to tell you who you are. It’s to help you recognise what you experience, what influences your capacity and what helps you work at your best.

What we can explore

  • Executive functioning
  • Capacity and energy
  • Sensory experiences
  • Communication and processing
  • Change and uncertainty
  • Social interaction
  • Anxiety and regulation
  • Masking and the hidden cost of coping
  • Your strengths and preferred ways of working

Connection Conversations

Confidential 1:1 conversations centred around you and your experience.

We listen first, explore the patterns you’re noticing and help you identify practical strategies, working approaches and next steps that may be useful.

For Employers & Leaders

Understanding your people starts with listening.

Different people may need different ways of receiving information, organising work, communicating, managing their environment or maintaining their capacity.

Support doesn’t always need to wait for a diagnosis.

A diagnosis can be important and valuable, but it does not need to be the starting point for every supportive conversation.

The focus can move from “What diagnosis does this person have?” to “What is this person telling us they need?”

A Question for Your Organisation

How well do you understand the experience of your people?

Do your employees feel able to talk about how they work best?

Do your managers feel confident having those conversations?

Are different communication and processing needs understood?

Are expectations and priorities as clear as we think they are?

Do we recognise the hidden effort that may sit behind someone appearing to cope?

When someone’s capacity changes, do we become curious about what may be contributing?

Are people able to ask for what helps before things become difficult?

Are we creating an environment where people can use their strengths rather than using their capacity navigating unnecessary demands?

How We Work With Organisations

Workplace Connections in Practice

Our workplace approach in practice.

Behaviour Connections delivered a workplace session exploring Understanding Neurodiversity: Anxiety, Masking and the Hidden Cost of Coping, followed by confidential 1:1 Connection Conversations.

Behaviour Connections at a Sky workplace session

From awareness to individual understanding

The session explored the lived experience behind what we see — helping people think about anxiety, masking, capacity and the effort that can sit behind appearing to cope.

The follow-up 1:1 conversations created space for individuals to reflect on their own experience of work, recognise patterns and consider practical ways forward.

A workplace conversation that connected organisation-wide awareness with individual support.

The Connections Framework™ at Work

One framework. Two perspectives.

The same framework supports both sides of the workplace conversation — helping individuals understand and communicate what works for them, while helping organisations listen, respond and build more inclusive practice.

FOR THE INDIVIDUAL

UNDERSTAND What am I experiencing?
IMPLEMENT What helps me?
EMBED How can I communicate and sustain what works?

FOR THE ORGANISATION

UNDERSTAND What are our people experiencing?
IMPLEMENT How can we respond?
EMBED How do we make this part of everyday practice?

Experiences, Not Labels

Different diagnosis. Same experience. Different person. Different need.

These experiences can cross diagnostic boundaries, and two people with the same diagnosis can experience work very differently. That’s why we don’t start by assuming we know what someone needs because of a label.

Sensory load Executive functioning Uncertainty Communication differences Social exhaustion Anxiety Capacity Masking

We start by asking:

What are you experiencing? What might be influencing that? What helps?

Let’s start a conversation.

For yourself. For your team. For your organisation. Whether you want to better understand your own experience of work or create a more connection-led approach to neuroinclusion, we’d love to hear from you.
